Sport Nation Bookmaker Review

sport nation home

Sport Nation is one of the newest betting sites on the market. Originally known as Bet on Brazil and rebranded in 2017 the sportsbook is operated by Argyll Entertainment AG, a company based in Switzerland.

It’s aimed squarely at a UK market however and uses former Manchester United, Ipswich Town and Scotland footballer, turned radio presenter, Alan Brazil as the face of the company. The original site started operating in time for the 2016 European Championships and since rebranding has gone from strength to strength.

Welcome Offer - 50% Matched Bonus up to £100

Welcome offer for new customers only. 18+. Terms & Conditions Apply.

New customers to the site can get a matched deposit bonus of up to £100 added to their account as part of the Sport Nation welcome offer.

In order to make use of the deposit bonus offer all you need to do is to enter the code ‘SN100’ when you’re making your first deposit. Sport Nation have only just rebranded and will be launching new offers, including a loyalty points scheme very soon.

To give you a flavour of the type of promotions for existing customers to expect here are a couple that Bet on Brazil used to run:  The first was an in play club, if you place £20 or more in wagers live in play each week (on any sports or markets with odds of 5/6+) and you will get a £25 free bet.

If you like footy accas you could also get £20 free if you placed £50 or more worth of football multiples each week.  Each acca must have total odds over 3/1 to qualify.

Desktop Site

sport nation desktop

I feel a little bit like I shouldn’t like the Sport Nation website, to be honest, and yet I really do.  Since the relanch the site is miles better an no longer had Alan Brazil's face plastered everywhere.

Now powered by SBtech the site is smoother and offers three times as many markets and features, but yet they’ve kept the whole thing really simple and consequently it’s a very user friendly experience. The homepage features links to every section of the site you could possibly want to get to in one click.

Down the lefthand side you’ll find links to any live events that are taking place at the time you’re there as well as a link to the most popular sporting occasions. Typically this means the Premier League, Champions League or World Cup, depending on what time of year it is. There's also a link to all of the sports that the cover. In the main section of the site you’ll find live events and any decent bets that they think you might be interested in, such as ‘Rooney to Score’, for example.

Sport Nation Mobile App

There isn’t a mobile app for Sport Nation. That might be because it’s early doors in the company’s life and they’re waiting for it to take off before they launch one, or it may be because they’re never going to have one. What they do have is a mobile site that is essentially a condensed version of the desktop site. Obviously that’s not perfect, but it actually works quite well all things considered.

The homepage features the same logical links to all the pages you need, as you’ll find on the desktop site. There’s also coverage of live events in the main body of the text. All sports are covered by a menu button and there is also a search function in there that might appeal if you know exactly what you’re looking to bet on.

Live Betting

sport nation live

You can bet on football matches live as well as any of 30 other sports. There are loads of markets to choose from here, with Sport Nation not limiting themselves merely to the Premier League. Do you fancy have a bet on the Egyptian Premier League, for example? How about the Bolivian Liga Profesional? They cover a lot and they cover it well.

Live Streaming

Much like with many other newly starting bookmakers there is no live streaming for you to entertain yourself with through Sport Nation. You could always bet with them and watch events through a different bookie if you wanted to, though.

Markets and Odds

Their market coverage isn’t bad for such a new bookie, and much better than it was under the Bet On Brazil name. Obviously football is their main love and they cover that very well, they've also got a full horse racing package as well as all the classic sports an average UK punter would want to wager on.

They don't cover absolutely every sport yet but Sport Nation cover more than the average sportsbook does with markets on specials, cycling, eSports, beach volleyball, and 30 other sports.  More than the usual punter would ever need.

Sport Nation’s odds are powered by SB Tech, a company that also does the odds for rivals bookmakers like 10Bet, ComeOn and NetBet . If you’re looking away from football then they’re going to be quite run-of-the-mill, but when it comes to their favourite sport the odds aren’t bad at all. The enhanced odds and loyalty free bets you’ll get however can be really impressive helping to boost your winnings.

Banking

As things currently stand you can only use credit, debit cards or bank transfers to make deposits and withdrawals. The minimum amount you can deposit is £10 and you don’t get charged a fee for doing so.

Other Products

There is a casino available through Sport Nation. It offers loads of different slot type games as well as roulette, BlackJack and other table games. With over 400 games and live games from the likes of NetEnt and Microgaming it provides aa comprehensive package as any other betting site.

About Sport Nation

sportnationSport Nation, the brainchild of Switzerland based Argyll Entertainment, is one of the youngest online bookmakers on the market. Initially launched as Bet On Brazil for Euro 2016 they very intentionally targeted a football audience, using the reputation of Alan Brazil as a loudmouth to do so. The presenter doesn’t shy away of getting involved, letting you know what he thinks are good odds and interesting markets via articles and even podcasts that are posted to the site.

Though Alan Brazil was the face (and voice) of the company (and still is in Sport Nation), it is very much too niche for many punters.  In August 2017 the brand therefore launched under the new name of Sport Nation and in the process moved platforms to SB Tech offering customers a far bigger and deeper range of markets and features.

Despite changing their name the brand is looking to keep its focus on rewarding regualr bettors.  Their catchphrase is ‘Don’t bet on boring’, so that should tell you all you need to know about their approach to the betting industry.

Their aim is to differentiate themselves from their competition by offering something more exiting than other bookies. You can judge for yourself whether they succeed.

Pros

Alan Brazil fronts up a product that is decidedly different from pretty much anything else out there. As a football fan I like the depth of their coverage of my favourite sport and I think the idea of offering existing customer free bet rewards is a clever one. Covering a few things really well rather than loads of things in a mediocre manner is a good way of offering something out of the norm in a crowded market.

Cons

This is definitely an online bookmaker for football fans. Yes they cover other sports but there aren’t loads of markets within them and the odds aren’t any better than you’d find elsewhere. The lack of a mobile app and live streaming is also disappointing, though one or both of those things might change in the future. Their customer service is also not 24/7 yet.

Licence & Contact Details

As a new site it’s understandable that Sport Nation might not give you loads of options when it comes to their customer support, so I’m not too bothered by the fact that there’s no phone line you can call. What I do think is a bit disappointing is the fact that their live chat is only available from 10am until 10pm. If you’ve got a problem outside of those hours then you’d better hope that they reply to your email quickly.

At the time of writing both the Twitter account and Facebook account of Sport Nation are little more than holders. They exist, but I wouldn’t bother searching them out if you’ve got a question or want…well…any information at all, actually.

Thought Argyll Entertainment are based in Switzerland they are registered in the UK and licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. Their licence number is 45143 and it was issued to them in May of 2016. There isn’t an address to write to when it comes to customer services, though the company’s official address is as follows:

Sport Nation Address: Argyll Entertainment, Bahnhofstrasse 10, Zug, 6300, Switzerland.
