32Red Bookmaker Review

32red home

It doesn’t take a genius to work out that 32Red started life as an online casino, with the major clue to that being the company’s name. 32Red was launched in 2002 and they had a separate sportsbook named 32Redbet. They re-launched the current sportsbook in 2014 as an integrated part of the 32Red website, under the banner 32Red Sport.

It’s fair to say that the company’s origins mean that this is the perfect website to head to if you’re looking for a top casino with an associated sportsbook. They boast over 500 casino games and also promise a player return of about 70% on those games, so they’re not messing about with what they offer. It’s the sports section I’m interested in, though, so here’s a bit more information about it.

Desktop Site

32red desktop

I can totally understand that the 32Red website might not be for everyone, but I actually really like it. It does something a bit different to the standard websites of the major bookies and when you spend a lot of time looking at different sportsbooks it’s always fun to see something out of the ordinary. There are still some givens, such as a list of the major sports along the top, but it’s the general layout that is most eye-catching.

Down the lefthand side of the screen you’ll see links to live events, upcoming fixtures and the most popular competitions to bet on. There’s then a section for every sport covered complete with the amount of bets you can make on them at the time you’re looking. The main page features the most popular competition of the day in a big banner, with live events underneath in a square layout reminiscent of the Tiles from a Windows OS. It’s quick to respond to commands, though the colour scheme is a little drab.

32Red Mobile App

I was concerned that the 32Red app would be dominated by the company’s casino offerings, so imagine my relief when I discovered that there’s actually a separate app to cover their sportsbook. It is essentially a pared down version of the desktop site made suitable for a mobile device and I don’t mind that. Admittedly on a top-quality phone screen the dull greys used for the majority of the colour scheme look even worse, but the general layout is good.

There is a menu that offers the same links to popular events and all of the sports as the main site, with the sports also being linked to by a scroll bar along the bottom with icons representing each one. The main body of the page is filled with live events from the sport you’ve chosen as well as the most popular upcoming matches. It is far from the best sports betting app I’ve used in my life but there also significantly worse ones out there.

Live Betting

32red live

There are live betting options aplenty on 32Red, with the system used nice and simple. It’s easy to understand what’s going on and what betting options are available, with a click on any live event taking you to the various markets and odds available therein. It takes a bit of getting used to but, like the site itself, I like it.

Live Streaming

There is no live streaming at the time of writing. This might change but I wouldn’t bet on it...... and I bet on pretty much everything.

Markets and Odds

If you were being polite then you would say that 32Red have a ‘specialised’ market. If you weren’t quite so keen on being polite then you’d say that the sportsbook market leaves a lot to be desired. They cover the mainstream sports like football, golf, tennis and horse racing but don’t really look towards anything else. ‘Middle of the road’ is probably the best expression.  Although do bear in mind this is a casino with a sportsbook rather than the other way around.

When it comes to odds they’re not much different. They’re ‘safe’ but that means that they’re unlikely to threaten the big boys any time soon. One area where they do excel is when it comes to their daily price boosts for horse racing. You can often get very good odds there, so do keep an eye out.

You can use credit and debit cards to make a minimum £10 deposit and there are no fees involved.

The same is true of PayPal, Neteller, Skrill, ECOPayz, Entropay, PaySafeCards and bank transfers. So everything, basically.

Other 32Red Products

Unsurprisingly 32Red would like you to come for the sports offerings and stay for the casino. That is their real pride and joy and there are games such as slots, there’s a live casino, bingo and also online poker. A real one-stop shop.

About 32Red

32redBased in Gibraltar for tax purposes, as so many online casinos are nowadays, 32Red is a British company that has earned itself brand recognition through numerous football sponsorship deals over the years. At various times they have sponsored Aston Villa, Swansea City, Crawley Town, Rangers in Scotland and Leeds United.

The company has also spent a lot of money investing in UK horse racing, becoming an authorised vetting partner of British Racing. They sponsor Kempton Park’s twilight races and are also the sponsors of the Haydock Sprint Cup. Their online casino operation is voiced by the actress Patsy Kensit. That won’t help your betting decisions but is an interesting tidbit of info, I thought.

Their website is different to most of the other betting sites you’ll find online and that is something surprisingly noteworthy. Their price boost offers are also decent and their welcome offer is good value for people who like to bet in-play. Their in-play betting is also fun, though there are no graphics to keep you amused if you like that sort of thing.

As good as the website is I think it would be even better if they opted for a slightly more interesting colour scheme. There’s also no denying that their market is small, though I suppose you could say that there’s room to grow. The lack of live streaming is a bit disappointing but it’s hardly unique for one of the smaller betting sites.

Licence & Contact Details

32Red have a very impressive help centre that should be your first port of call if you’re looking for some information. If that fails then there’s a decent live chat option that I’ve never had to wait long on in order to speak to someone. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and will do their best to help you. The live chat is open 24/7 too, so you will never be left stranded if you need some help with something. The same applies for their telephone support.

32Red have numerous Twitter accounts depending on what you’re wanting to contact them for. Their sports account isn’t as active as their main account, though neither are particularly quick to respond to people sending them messages. The same thing applies to their Facebook account. If you love chatting with companies via social media then 32Red will probably leave you disappointed.

32Red is a British company registered in Gibraltar. They’re still licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, though, so you don’t need to worry - your money is as safe as it can be. Their licence number is 39430, just to reassure you. If you’re not a fan of using email and would prefer to drop them a message in the old fashioned way then their snail mail address is as follows:

32Red Address: 32Red Plc, 741 Europort, Gibraltar, GX11 1AA.
